The Ambassadors have been active in the community for many years but in 1996 they decided to focus their attention in a more direct area by sponsoring local high school seniors with a scholarship. The schools chosen were from the Kansas City Metropolitan area and the main focus was on students with academic and athletic abilities. The first year 2-$1000 scholarships were presented. While the dynamics have remained the same come changes were made. The list of schools increased to 78 which included private and charter schools. Two students (male and female) are nominated by their schools and sent in. The requirements of the scholarship also changed a little to include all students, whether they participated in sports or not and focused more on the students with a financial need. Also, each year the amount increased with the average amount of money donated in a given year was $26,000. For several years 12-$2000 awards were administered until 2004 when 21-$2,000 scholarships were handed out. Most of the money distributed to the scholarship fund is raised through a golf tournament and auction that is held once a year by the Ambassadors.
While not all of the 78 schools participate we do get very good response from the local schools. We have had scholarship winners from:
| Barstow | Basehor-Linwood |
| Blue Springs | Blue Springs South |
| Blue Valley | Blue Valley North |
| Center | DeSoto |
| Excelsior Springs | Grandview |
| Kearney | Lee's Summit |
| Liberty | North Kansas City |
| North Platte | Park Hill |
| Raytown | Ruskin |
| Shawnee Mission South | St. Pius |
| Sumner | Truman |
| Washington | Wyandotte |
These are just a few but it shows the areas around town and the different types of schools.
