Ken played his collegiate ball at Ball State where he played in and started all 44 games, earning All Conference honors his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, he was the school’s most valuable player and was the Mid-America Conference Player of the Year.
In 1979, his first year in Kansas City, Ken was taken as the Chiefs’ seventh pick in the draft. He played defensive end and nose tackle for six seasons, leading the team in sacks in 1981.
