Dave enjoyed a nine-year stadium tour with the National Football League. He was drafted by the Chargers in the sixth round of the 1977 NFL draft. He played in San Diego for one year before joining the Kansas City Chiefs as a defensive end for the 1978 season. His service to the Chiefs was invaluable to the cohesiveness of the defensive line. He played in 89 consecutive games for the Chiefs and started 30. His career totals in Kansas City are 118 games, 30 starts 205 tackles, 13 sacks and 1 fumble recovery. He retired from the Chiefs in 1986.

A son of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Lindstrom is a 1976 graduate of Boston University with a degree in education. He was inducted into both the Boston University Hall of Fame and Weymouth High School Hall of Fame in 1993.

Today, Dave owns four Burger King Restaurants and is very active in the community and his business. He has served as president of the Kansas Chapter of Special Olympics, is a graduate of Leadership Kansas, a Board Member of the Kansas Leadership Center, a Board Member of the Greater Kansas City Sports Commission, a Board Member of the Overland Park Visitor & Convention Bureau and a Board Member of Restaurant Services Incorporated.

Lindstrom has long been politically active. He was recently re-elected to serve a third term on the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners. Prior to his service to the Commission, Lindstrom was the Kansas Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor in 2002.

A resident of Overland Park, Lindstrom has lived in Johnson County since 1979. He and Mary, his wife of 30 years, are the proud parents of two daughters, Halee and Adrienne.
